Peach & Prosciutto Pizza
With Hot Honey
The perfect balance of salt, sweet, and heat!
INGREDIENTS
Pizza
1 ball store-bought pizza dough (12–16 oz), room temp
1–2 ripe peaches
1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
1 cup smoked gouda, shredded or thinly sliced
4–6 fresh basil leaves
3–5 slices prosciutto (optional)
1 garlic clove
A few sprigs fresh thyme (or ½ tsp dried)
All-purpose flour (for dusting)
Olive oil
Hot Honey
¼ cup honey
1 tsp apple cider vinegar
½–1 tsp red chili flakes (adjust to heat preference)
INSTRUCTIONS
- In a small saucepan over low heat, combine honey, chili flakes, and apple cider vinegar. Warm gently for 2–3 minutes, then remove from heat and let steep while you prep the pizza.
- Preheat the oven according to your dough’s instructions (typically 475°F–500°F). If using a pizza stone, place it in the oven to heat.
- Lightly flour a clean surface and roll the dough into a 10–12 inch circle or oval. Transfer to a parchment-lined baking sheet or floured pizza peel.
- Prep your toppings: finely mince the garlic, slice peaches into ¼-inch wedges, and strip thyme leaves from their stems if using fresh.
- Lightly brush olive oil across the entire surface of the dough.
- Sprinkle the minced garlic and thyme evenly over the oiled dough.
- Layer 1 cup mozzarella and 1 cup gouda over the garlic and thyme. Add peach slices and 3–5 slices of prosciutto.
- Bake for 10–14 minutes or until the crust is golden and cheese is bubbling. If using a pizza stone, start checking at 8–10 minutes.
- Remove pizza from the oven and top with fresh basil. Drizzle hot honey generously using a spoon or honey dipper. Slice, serve immediately, and enjoy!
